Arts in Health: Re-imagining Vital Signs

This event, curated for the Arts in Health series at ETSU , invited students and scholars from the medical and social sciences, and the creative arts to engage in critical play around the questions:

How would Vital Signs be measured, if we tended to the collective quality of caring in addition to the biomedical individual lenses? What becomes available to our collective attention, and which questions become noticeable- when we move “Lung Capacity”, “Muscle Tension”, or “Heart Beat” with creative practices?

Reflections on nursing overload, crumbling care systems, or what counts as healing emerged from a lively event of critical and playful engagement.
